UTS and Tallinn University Estonia stick to cooperative commitments

UTS is working with Tallinn University Estonia on carrying out multiple cooperative programs, including exchange program for staff and students under Erasmus+ program, as well as continuing joint efforts in organising and hosting international academic conferences.

A delegation from Tallinn University’s School of Digital Technologies, led by Professor Dr David Lamas Head of the Human-Computer Interaction group and Dr Sonia Claudia da Costa Sousa Associate Professor of Interaction Design visited University Technology Sarawak from 26 Feb. 3 March 2023. Along with Associate Professor Dr Tariq Zaman of UTS, Prof David Lamas facilitated a session on Technology Enhanced Learning in Estonia and Sarawak. The session aimed to strengthen the collaboration between Tallinn University Estonia and University of Technology Sarawak by establishing a robust collaborative network of academic institutions, schools, government departments and educational technology startup companies from Sarawak and Estonia. The session was attended by the representative of Ministry of Education, Innovation and Talent Development Sarawak and Sarawak Digital Economy Corporation, University of Malaysia Sarawak, Univeristy of Technology Sarawak, Swinburne University of Technology, Universiti Kuala Lumpur, SJK (C) Chung Cheng, Woodlands International School and Realfun Learning Centre, the Learning Curve, Chumbaka Sdn Bhd and Formeta Sdn Bhd.

The delegation also visited the first community network of Malaysia in Bawang Assan established by the research team of the Advanced Centre for Sustainable Socio-Economic and Technological Development (ASSET) UTS. The team had a meeting with the UTS and UNIKL Head of Programs to discuss the potential collaboration in mobile games development for education and enhanced learning.

This visit further strengthens the existing partnership between UTS and TU and highlights the mutual interest in developing innovative solutions education and enhanced learning.
