UCTS Students won Gold Medal Award for the e-SPeDIP2020 Innovation Competition

The total of six first year Bachelor of Arts in Industrial Design (BID) students and one Foundation in Arts (FIA) student joined the e-SPeDIP2020 Innovation Competition in conjunction with the Seminar Penyelidikan dan Inovasi dalam Pendidikan 2020 (SPeDIP2020) national level. The competition was organised online on 24th to 25th June 2020. In line with the theme of this seminar, ‘Penyelidikan dan Inovasi: Pemacu ke Era Pendidikan Industrial Revolution 4.0 (IR 4.0)’, the objective of this competition was to inspire interest among students in Innovation Competition. Through this competition, student have developed skills in critical thinking, problem solving, design thinking, and creativity through product innovation development.

The team competed in Category A: IPTA / IPTS / IPG / IAB / Matrikulasi / ILP / IKBN / Tingkatan 6 /JPN / PPD / SISC+ / SIP. They have won a Gold Medal award for the Innovation Competition with their innovation product, Easy Carry Easy Display (E.C.E.D). The purpose of the design project is to create a flexible and convenient product which is appropriate for kindergarten indoor and outdoor learning activities. The E.C.E.D helps the kindergarten teachers in encouraging a practical learning method to enhance the creativity and imagination of students’ minds which will also improve their fundamental understanding of design and art simultaneously.
