Event: Sarawak Agrofest 2018 and International Conference on Agriculture and Agro-based Industry Sarawak 2018 (ICAAS), Kuching
HackWknd ICAAS was a maker competition jointly organized by MaGIC and Ministry of Modernisation of Agriculture, Native Land and Regional Development, dated from 19th to 21st October 2018. The aim of the competition was to discover local talents and develop IoT solutions in the areas related to agriculture. UCTS was invited to send in a team which made up of four School of Computing and Creative Media students, namely Kenneth Chieng Shao Kui, Liew Kah Soon, Kueh Hong Le and Elton Wong Kee Sheng. The team developed an IoT solution which can be used for pest control and won two awards which were first runner up, and popular choice award voted by the visitors at ICAAS. A total prize money of RM 1,500 was bagged in by the team as a result.
