Junior Innovator(JI) Train-The-Trainer(TTT) is a 2 days (13th May-14th May 2022) training programme joint organized by SCM and Chumbaka who is an active maker movement industry partner, worked closely with Sarawak Multimedia Authority (SMA) and Tabung Ekonomi Gagasan Anak Bumiputera Sarawak (TEGAS) since 2018. This year’s event saw a larger turnout of teachers from over 34 participating schools from Sibu and all around Sibu, including Betong, Dalat, Daro, Julau, Kanowit, Kapit, Lubok Antu, Meradog, Mukah, Sarikei and Selangau.
Junior Innovate Programme is designed to help the primary school kids to develop technical and life skills in the areas of technology, problem-solving, innovation and communication through workshops and competitions since young under the guidance and support of the primary teachers. In order to achieve this, JI TTT training was provided to the primary teachers covering animation with Piskel and Scratch, Arduino with mBlock, prototyping and equipped with mentoring skills in STEM learning. This year the competition theme for JI is “A Game for Change – Vision towards a Wonderful Malaysia”.
