Date: 11-12 May 2023
Venue: KL Convention Centre
ITEX Malaysia, Asia’s leading invention, innovation and technology exhibition, was held on 11-12 May 2023 at the KL Convention Centre. The event was a platform for showcasing innovative projects and technologies from various fields. This year, ITEX’2023 saw the participation of many teams, including UTS-SCM, who sent two projects for exhibition.
The SCM team was headed by Ts. Dr. Chew Kim Mey, Ts. Gary Loh Chee Wyai and Daniel Chia (student), presented two innovative projects. Both projects received a silver medal at the exhibition, which is a remarkable achievement.
The first project presented by the SCM team was the “Solar-powered Real-time Low Water Pressure Early Warning System.” This project aimed to develop a system that can monitor water pressure levels in real-time and provide an early warning in case of low pressure. The system is solar-powered and can be used in areas where there is limited access to electricity. This project has immense potential in regions where water supply is scarce or unreliable, and timely alerts can help prevent water-related crises.
The second project presented by the SCM team was the “Rural School Network Infrastructure Analysis and Redesign for Meaningful Connectivity.” This project aimed to analyze and redesign the network infrastructure in rural schools to provide meaningful connectivity. The project team identified the challenges faced by rural schools in terms of network connectivity and developed a solution that is both affordable and sustainable. The project has significant implications for the education sector, particularly in rural areas, where students often face difficulties in accessing digital resources.
Overall, the SCM team’s participation in ITEX’2023 was a resounding success, with both projects receiving a silver medal. The project’s innovative nature and potential impact on society make them noteworthy contributions to the field of technology.
