HackWknd IDECS 2018 is a mini event held in conjunction with the second installation of International Digital Economy Conference Sarawak (IDECS) 2018. The goal for the event is to cultivate the culture of problem solving using technology across domains. Top teams in each theme category will take home cash prizes as well as a chance for their prototype to be adopted and developed further under the partnering ministries or government agencies.
UCTS was invited to send in three teams to tackle the three important themes from the state’s digital economy initiative, namely agriculture, tourism and smart cities. Details of the teams were as follow:
Team White Shield managed to win 1st Runner Up in the Tourism category, while team KahKuiLe secured 2nd Runner Up in the Agriculture category. As for the Pufftriggered, they were the winning team in the Smart Cities category. All in all, UCTS teams had bagged in a total of RM 6,000 in prize money.
