The Young Innovators Challenge (YIC) Programme aims to equip secondary school students with essential technical and life skills in areas such as, problem-solving, innovation, and communication. Through hands-on workshop and competition, students are guided and supported by their teachers and UTS students as YIC mentors to cultivate these skills.
The YIC Train-the-Trainer (TTT) is a 2-day training programme jointly organised by SCM-UTS and Chumbaka. This year, the TTT was attended by 19 secondary school teachers and 19 UTS students as YIC mentors. The training was conducted by Mr. Siah Tung Chuan, with coordination by Eileen Ong and facilitation by Dr. Tiong Meng Chung. During the session, teachers were trained on PictoBlox and Arduino platforms to equip them with the necessary knowledge and skills to guide their students. The theme for this year’s YIC is “AI for Social Good”.
