STEM Trailblazer 2024

Venue: Tun Abdul Taib Mahmud Chancellor Hall, University of Technology Sarawak (UTS)

STEM Trailblazer 2024 was an educational event aimed at promoting Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) among primary, secondary, and undergraduate students. Organized by the School of Computing and Creative Media (SCM) and the Ministry of Education Innovation & Talent Development Sarawak (MEITD), the event provided a platform for young talents to showcase their innovative projects and compete in various STEM-related challenges.

 

The event encompassed three main categories:

  1. Primary School: Students and teachers competed using Raspberry Pi to build their projects.
  2. Secondary School: Teams participated in Robomaster and drone competitions.
  3. Undergraduate: Final year project (FYP) students competed in ReTex 2024.

Activities during the STEM Trailblazer included:

  1. Creative Teacher & Student Raspberry Pi Showcase
  2. Robomaster Competitions
  3. Drone Competitions
  4. Exhibition Booths
  5. Science Shows
  6. Judging Sessions

These activities were designed to foster creativity, innovation, and technical skills among participants.

Overall, STEM Trailblazer 2024 contributed significantly to Sarawak’s educational landscape by promoting STEM education, encouraging local innovation, enhancing digital skills, and supporting the state’s digitalization efforts.
