The School of Computing and Creative Media (SCM), UCTS had successfully contributed in STEM Playground Virtual Fair 2020 initiated by TEGAS in collaboration with MESTR, Education Department Sarawak, Sarawak Multimedia Authority (SMA) and Sarawak Digital Economy Corporation (SDEC). The one-week event was conducted virtually and streamed via stemplayground.my. The virtual fair promoted STEM education as an easy and interesting subject to learn, providing creative and innovative teaching support system outside the classroom.
STEM Playground Virtual Fair with the theme of “Discover, Create, Innovate” cultivated interest in STEM subjects in primary, secondary and tertiary students. STEM Playground Virtual Fair was divided into four segments: ‘STEM Fun Segment’, ‘STEM Facts Gallery’, and ‘STEM Games’ and ‘STEM Challenges’. SCM conducted one talk on hacking, one online game and two online workshop tutorials while promoting our labs and facilities.
