JI TTT 2024 Programme

Venue: Computer Lab 3 & Computer Lab 4, UTS

Junior Innovate (JI) Train-the-Trainer (TTT) is a 2-day training programme jointly organised by UTS and Chumbaka, which is an active maker movement industry partner. The TTT was attended by 32 teachers from SJK(C) Boi Ing, SJK (C) Chong Boon, SJK (C) Chung Hua, SJK (C) Chung Sing, SJK (C) Ek Hua, SJK (C) Poi Yuk, SJK (C) Tiong Hin, SJK (C) Tung Hua, SJK (C) Yee Ting, SJK (C) Hin Hua, SK Abang Ali, SK Agama, SK Cardinal Vaughan, SK Kg Petanak, SK Mukah, SK Muton, SK Nangka Machan, SK Nanha Meluan, SK Sg Nibong, and SK Sungai Duan. Dr. Xavier Chee and David Lim conducted the JI TTT, with coordination by Eileen Ong and facilitation by Dr. Tiong Meng Chung and Sharman A/L Kailasa Pillai Mudaliar.

The Junior Innovate Programme is designed to help the primary school kids develop technical and life skills in the areas of technology, problem-solving, innovation and communication through workshops and competitions since childhood under the guidance and support of the primary teachers. JI TTT training was provided to the primary teachers covering PictoBlox and Arduino. Ten primary school students were invited to join JI TTT to equip them with mentoring skills for their peers in preparation for the JI competition. This year the competition theme for JI is creating a game for positive change that related to health and wellbeing.
