UCTS inaugural Corporate Talent Development Day

The UCTS inaugural Corporate Talent Development Day was held on the 25th of March at LTC.  All 13 of the SCM students and academic staff attended the seminar which was held from 9 am till 1 pm.  A booth was set up outside LTC to showcase our state-of-the-art toys such as the Oculus VR and Anki Drive.

The event was well attended by at least 200 participants from the industry and schools around Sibu division apart from UCTS staff and students.  There are representatives from 15 industry partners (more in the pipeline) such as Hock Peng, Sarawak Energy, KTS and etc. who participated in the Corporate Talent Development programme exchanging memorandum of understanding (MoU) with our vice chancellor, Prof. Dato’ Dr. Abdul Hakim Juri during the event.  Among the VIPs who attended the ceremony are UCTS’ chairman, YB Dato Sri Wong Soon Koh, and CEO of RECODA, Tan Sri Datuk Amar Wilson Baya Dandot who also delivered the keynote speech on the Impact of SCORE to Sarawak’s Future.Other speakers of the day were Dr. Abdul Rahman Deen, Manpower Development Unit of Chief Minister’s Department on Sarawak Manpower Development Needs who spoke on “How Schools can Support the Manpower Preparation for Sarawak”, as well Dato Dr. Abdul Hakim Juri who opened the eyes of the participants on UCTS’ Contribution to Sarawak Manpower Development.
