Drone Research and Application Center

Introduction

University College of Technology Sarawak (UCTS) has achieved a milestone with the establishment of the first ever Drone Research and Application Center (DRAC) in Sarawak to spearhead the introduction of drone applications and training. The center was established through collaborative efforts between University College of Technology Sarawak (UCTS) and its partners from Taiwan, namely Chang Jung Christian University (CJCU) and GEOSAT Aerospace & Technology Inc, who are equipped with cutting-edge knowledge in drone training, application research and manufacturing.

The setting up of DRAC was also in line with the roadmap and aspirations of the Sarawak Digital Economy initiative.  By leveraging on the experience and expertise of the Taiwanese partners, DRAC aims to collaborate with the relevant government agencies and industry players to explore and develop applications that can provide value in potential markets like precision agriculture, land and surveying, security, logistics, tourism and construction.

Services

DRAC provide services in conducting training for drone related operations; performing research in drone technology; and developing drone related applications for civilian and commercial uses.
